Sven jonson was a swedish visual artist born in halmstad. Jonson began his career as a professional painter but later became an artist. After traveling to paris with esaias thorén to study at the academie scandinave for otte sköld, his career as an artist took off in earnest. Back in sweden, jonson and thorén started advertising agency and developed the group "de unga" with axel olson as teacher. Jonson was also involved in starting the "halmstad group" in 1929. Early in jonson's career, he painted landscapes in yellow and brown tones and later switched to painting surreal environments in blue tones that represent his dream worlds.
