Louis XVI period armchair

Authentic Louis XVI armchair with a square back. Genuine period piece and not a style imitation (irregular fluting, pegged legs, wood against the fabric of the back not planed..., all signs of craftsmanship that are unmistakable). So we forgive its small flaws as it is still several centuries old: - a small loss on one leg, nibbled by former tiny inhabitants - slight wood losses at times but barely visible due to the ultra-patinated wood - the seat is no longer the most comfortable, yet still functional, and the webbing has been completely reinforced with new elastic straps arranged in a checkerboard pattern, as it should be. When looked at closely, one can see its history over the years. One leg has notably been restored, and a very slight difference in wood colour can be observed on the replaced piece; the upholstery is in generally good condition, clean and not torn. A piece that is a real favourite! Width 57 / depth 56 / height 90 / seat height 36 cm.
