Victorian trunk, steam travel chest, 19th century.

Superb trunk or travel chest in wood, copper, leather and metal, magnificently decorated with floral motifs delicately engraved on the copper which covers each of its sides. Leather handles are present on the sides, while small wheels underneath make this trunk easy to move. Dating from the victorian era to the 19th century. Inside, an original lithograph represents a woman surrounded by roses and birds, it is an authentic "stamp" formerly used on steam trunks. This type of trunk, extremely solid, is made of wood reinforced with metal to resist bad weather, particularly during train and boat trips. Its “curved” shape optimizes the space inside and ensures better resistance and handling. Today, this chest retains all its charm and quality of yesteryear, serving as storage, decoration or collector's item. Dimensions: 63 h X 93 w X 50 d.
