Singer simanco sewing lamp (singer manufacturing company) model slf-3. Raw steel arm. Black lacquered cast iron base. Ball-jointed and clamped connecting rod in black steel. Black bakelite reflector with black steel circlips. Articulated arm and reflector. B14 socket, power 15 watts. Dimensions: height 40 cm; length 20cm; width 14 cm; reflector diameter 7.5 cm. Weight: 1.1 kg. Manufacturer: Singer Manufacturing Company (Simanco), USA. Production period: 1940. Singer is a sewing machine manufacturer established in 1851 in New York by Isaac Merritt Singer. In 40 years it would become one of the first truly global companies by establishing service and distribution centers and building factories around the world, the largest of which was that of Clydeland (Scotland) which employed up to 10,000 workers in 1913. Singer quickly established itself as the world leader in sewing machines for individuals and professionals in the textile industry. For the latter, in order to offer an all-inclusive service, Singer provided in addition to the machine, the stool, the table and the lamp! Lamp restored while retaining its history and its original patina: patinated steel, new electrical wiring composed of a black braided cable 2 'a black plastic switch. The base and main arm were assembled from vintage Singer sewing machine parts (belt flywheel and gear axle). Filament bulb 15w 230v bayonet base b15 supplied. Superb patina and condition. See photos.
