Pair of vases - Clément Massier

Important pair of elongated ovoid hanging vases in ceramic with a bright green monochrome glaze, accented by subtle brown streaks at the neck and on the handles. This model is distinguished by its two flat side handles, sculpted with relief geometric patterns, evoking stylised wings. A bold aesthetic, at the intersection of Art Nouveau and Art Deco (Modernist period). Created by Clément Massier in Golfe-Juan (Vallauris) around 1910 - 1920.
