Description
Table "liba" (name given by its designer anne lucas) built from a 19th century architectural element from indonesia. The carved decoration has traces of bluish pigmentation. The central frieze unfolds a vegetal decoration that starts from a very stylized lotus flower. The use of this theme testifies to bali's fidelity to indian culture, where the lotus is linked to the three worlds. The tray made of ash wood of natural hue is varnished satin, then waxed. In order to stabilize it the solid wood is reinforced with threaded rods and is supported by a steel frame. The base of the table is attached to this frame: two bars of galvanized steel and wood treated as the top make up the legs. Unique piece designed by its designer and made by french craftsmen in 1996. Selling price at the time around 4000 €. She had designed several tables in the same spirit. The feet are removable. Quite heavy (60kg with feet and glass I think). It lacks a nut on one of the feet but it has more of a decorative function and could be replaced. It bears marks of the wear and tear of time. The glass is not original and the current one does not cover the entire table.
