This walnut office chair from the Louis-Philippe period is appealing due to the refined balance of its lines and the brightness of its wood. The structure features a continuously arched backrest, extending into curved armrests that envelop the seat with a discreet elegance, typical of the comfort sought in bourgeois interiors of the mid-19th century. The seat is caned, offering both visual lightness, breathability, and authenticity, while the turned and fluted front legs demonstrate careful craftsmanship, understated yet masterful, characteristic of the Louis-Philippe style. The slightly inclined sabre back legs ensure perfect stability while lightening the silhouette of the chair. The whole exudes an impression of serene solidity, elegant functionality, and timeless charm. This chair is a character piece, ideal for an office, a library, or an interior combining antique furniture with contemporary decoration. In good condition after restoration in our cabinetmaking workshop. Waxed finish. Reference 616V.
