Bohemian entrance buffet 110cm (RDS: C62.928)

This charming buffet, richly carved and colored, is an ancient buddhist altar originating from gansu, a region located between present-day mongolia and china. Appreciate the side panels finely carved with clouds and dragon tails which beautifully frame this antique solid wood piece of furniture. Assembled entirely using traditional carpentry techniques, namely mortise and tenon, it embodies authentic craftsmanship. This bohemian sideboard, designed by a traveling carpenter for its owner and probably painted by a woman in the household, skillfully mixes different lacquers (blue and red). The flower and animal motifs painted on the doors find their inspiration in the taoist tradition of northern china. Two white birds, in a naive style, adorn the door panels, adding a unique charm to this small entryway unit. With dimensions of 110 cm wide by 43 cm deep, this sideboard proves to be an ideal entryway piece of furniture, equipped with two “empty pocket” drawers. Its still vibrant colors will be the centerpiece of your hall! In addition to being perfect for the entrance and living room, this superb old sideboard can also be used as a solid wood vanity unit. A must-have for your interior! The shelves of chinese furniture are removable, resting on wooden uprights, and their height can be adjusted by adding wooden blocks.
