Vintage Lounge Chair with Stool by André Vandenbrouck for Strassle

This vintage lounge chair and ottoman set is the “king” model designed by andré vandenbrouck for strässle, switzerland, in the late  1960s. It perfectly embodies the luxurious comfort and bold aesthetic of mid-century modern design. The deep seat and separate footstool provide ergonomic relaxation. The lounge set is upholstered in high-quality black leather with generous padding for ultimate comfort. The seat and back cushions are detachable. Distinctive sculptural solid wood black lacquered armrests, covered with leather continue the flowing lines of the chair profile. Five-point star-shaped bases in cast aluminum provide stability, adding a modernist touch. Both the chair and the footstoll can turn around 360 degrees. Despite its age, the lounge set remains in excellent condition, demonstrating the lasting quality of leather that has another long decade to go. Minor signs of use, such as age-appropriate wrinkles and patina, add character and tell the story of the piece’s history. The rotary mechanism works smoothly. The chair has no backrest adjustment.
