Jerome Massier in Vallauris - Ceramic planter

Jerome Massier in Vallauris. Round-shaped cache pot. In polychrome ceramic with a floral decoration. Circa 1940. Although the founder Jerome Massier Fils passed away in 1909, his workshop continued to operate. In 1930, his grandson Jean Clergue took over the management of the family business and used this impressed stamp "J. MASSIER VALLAURIS" until 1953. The cheerful, slightly naive, and very colorful style of this piece is typical of the production of that time, just before the explosion of ceramics in the "1950s." Height: 14cm. Diameter: 18cm. A small chip at the base, interior stains.
