Large stripped oak library – Louis XV period, 18th century. Important solid oak library from the Louis XV period, dating from the 18th century, featuring an elegant stripped patina that highlights the natural grain of the wood and its authenticity. It opens with two large glazed doors with shaped crosspieces, offering a beautiful view of the interior shelves, ideal for displaying books, ceramics, or collectibles. The glazing is framed with typical Louis XV style mouldings. The façade is rhythmically decorated with moulded and sculpted panels, while the overhanging cornice emphasises the elegance of the whole. The lower part consists of a large drawer at the front, resting on a finely cut crosspiece and curved feet. The wrought iron fittings, long pierced lock entries, and pull handles harmonise with the regional character of this piece of furniture. The interior, painted in a grey-blue tone, creates a refined contrast with the light shade of the oak and particularly highlights the displayed objects. Period: 18th century, Louis XV style. Materials: solid oak. Condition: very good presentation condition. The piece is sound and stable, with a beautiful old patina and normal signs of use related to its age, which contribute to its charm. This large library will fit well in both a classic and contemporary interior, where its understated elegance and authentic patina will add a lot of character. Ideal for a library, dining room, or country house.
