Description
Mirror with period windshields Louis XV in gilded wood and redecorated hand-carved rinsings. Around 1750. French or italian work. One can notice a hole in the bottom of the mirror in the pattern of the flower, there was originally a candle applique mounted on the mirror (missing). Label at the back of the mirror marked "barnby bendall and co ltd - depository cheltenham", it is in fact a well-known former english transport/moving and storage company in antiquity, based in cheltenham, which existed between 1839 and 1976, so the mirror "traveled" throughout this period. Good state of preservation.
