Laminated and bent beech structure composed of three adjoining modules, with seats and backrests in wide interwoven fabric webbing. Original mark present. “Eva” model by Bruno Mathsson, Swedish production, 1960s. The “Eva” sofa extends Bruno Mathsson’s exploration of ergonomic forms and the possibilities of bent wood across three seats. Three adjoining modules, joined underneath by long stretchers, preserve the clear definition of each individual seat. The use of laminated beech makes it possible to create the curved profiles of the supports and the distinctive shaping of the outer armrests. The seats and backrests are formed by wide interwoven fabric webbing, stretched directly across the structure to adapt to the body without the need for traditional upholstery. The construction thus remains fully visible, clearly expressing the relationship between structure, material and comfort that distinguishes Mathsson’s work. Dating from the 1960s, this example retains the original “Bruno Mathsson Design – Made in Sweden” mark. Good condition. It may show signs of age. Please pay attention to the photographs. AG362.
