Pair of Restored Art Deco Oak Nightstands with Chevron Drawers 1930s

Finding a single vintage cabinet in great condition is wonderful, but acquiring an authentic, mirror-image pair from the Art Deco era is a true rarity. We are proud to present a set of two solid oak nightstands, sold exclusively as a matching pair. DESIGN AND CRAFTSMANSHIP Created to complement each other perfectly, these cabinets open in opposite directions (left and right hinges), making them the ultimate, harmonious frame for a bed. The bodies of the cabinets reference the classic Art Deco aesthetic, resting on sturdy, stepped block bases. It is the meticulous detailing that elevates this set into the luxury category. The fronts of the small drawers showcase absolute cabinetmaking mastery. The wood veneer was painstakingly cut and arranged by hand in a complex chevron (herringbone) pattern, beautifully catching the light. The main doors and top surfaces are covered in noble, highly figured oak veneer, arranged symmetrically in a book-matched pattern. FUNCTIONALITY These nightstands feature a brilliant and highly practical layout. In addition to a spacious enclosed cabinet and a drawer for small items, they offer a clever, asymmetrical open shelf—perfect for keeping your current book or phone within easy reach. Original brass knobs have been carefully preserved. RESTORATION AND FINISH Both pieces have been fully and professionally restored in our specialized workshop. All old, degraded varnishes were meticulously stripped down to the bare wood. The wood was then treated with premium, eco-friendly hard wax oil. This provides a natural, satin-matte touch that highlights the depth of the wood grain and protects the surface against moisture and daily use, completely avoiding the artificial gloss of synthetic lacquers. The interiors are flawlessly clean.
