Large mid-century sommerso glass vase designed by flavio poli for alessandro mandruzzato (murano, italy, 1960s). Very rare colors. The vase is made of thick purple and light blue glass. It is extremely decorative. Beautifully colored faceted glass. Mandruzzato is well-known for producing exceptional geometric and cubic-shaped art glass pieces. H: 21 cm; w (largest point): 9 cm; d (largest point): 9 cm. Perfect vintage condition. "sommerso" is a technique developed in murano in the 1930s which was very popular in the 1950s-60s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer.
