Hein Stolle Magazine Side Table for De Toekomst Netherlands 1947

Rare magazine / side table designed by designer and architect hein stolle in 1947 and manufactured by de toekomst netherlands. Hein stolle, together with wim den boon and pierre kleykamp, founded groep & in 1945. The group’s ambition was to continue the purist and functionalist prewar ideals and aesthetic into the postwar period or ‘reconstruction period’ in the netherlands. This magazine / side table was one of the earliest dutch plywood productions. It has solid birch legs and a birch plywood top. It is stamped underneath the top with 'hulsmann amsterdam', which was most likely the store where it was sold. Hard to find piece in a condition like this. The table is in good original condition with a lovely patina. No damages.
