A very beautiful antique set of French faience from Onnaing, consisting of a covered vegetable dish (or small soup tureen) and a sauce boat with its accompanying tray. The pieces feature a superb polychrome frieze decoration, blending floral and geometric motifs in shades of red, blue, green, and gold. The elegant spiral-shaped handles, also echoed on the lid's knob, give the set a lot of character and a particularly original silhouette. The pieces bear the old stamp "Faïence d’Onnaing – France, " with the crowned arms of the manufacture. This set can be dated to around 1900, late 19th – early 20th century, Belle Époque period. Capacities: • Covered vegetable dish / soup tureen: approximately 1, 500 ml. • Sauce boat: approximately 630 ml. The set is in very good condition considering its age, with no major apparent defects. The faience and decoration have retained all their charm. A very fine example of antique French faience, ideal for completing a collection of Onnaing tableware, for an elegant table, or simply as decorative objects in an antique interior, chic country style, or French brocante.
