Azilal Berber Rug No. 112

This rug is the result of 3 to 4 months of work in our cooperative in the moroccan middle atlas. It is made of pure atlas wool, the best wool there is! It is a unique piece made by our berber weavers. They made this rug with 4 hands on a traditional loom. Originally, berber rugs were used as mattresses in berber tents. When the weavers made the rugs, they only put fringes on one side. In this way, the most visible side of the rug decorated with fringes was placed near the entrance of the tent. The rug is washed with water and black soap by one of the 3 “washers” of our cooperative. The washing operation was repeated 3 times so that this rug does not lose its wool over time and thus guarantees its softness for your well-being.
