Pair of Napoleon III style armchairs, reupholstered in burgundy velvet, with a characteristic spoon-shaped backrest typical of the toad style. The backrest, rounded and slightly inclined backward, features an organic curve typical of the ornamental taste of the Second Empire. The base of each seat is highlighted by a twisted fringe in matching passementerie, fixed under a cord trim, completely concealing the legs. The reupholstering, visibly recent, is done with care: no signs of wear noted on the velvet or the fringes. The two pieces form a symmetrical and homogeneous pair. Seat height: 35 cm.
