This lovely table setting is made up of a spoon and a fork in sterling silver. This beautiful work was created by the goldsmith henri soufflot at the end of the 19th century. This place setting has a shell and rock decoration. It is monogrammed jc or jt. These baptism gifts are a traditional gift: in the past, in wealthy families, the godmother offered a silver object to the child (hence the expression "to be born with a silver spoon in the mouth"). These rare objects of goldsmithing constituted a safe haven, passed on to the protégé. This present could be accompanied by a timpani, an egg cup or a napkin ring. The child will keep this present all his life and use it every day. This cutlery is in sterling silver, hallmarked with the "head of minerva" and the maker's mark "hs star" for henri soufflot between 1884-1910. In good general condition, they measure around 16 cm. I report traces of oxidation and wear (scratches and deformation).
