Description
Montjoye – legras & cie. Vase of ovoid shape with cylindrical neck. Proof made of blown glass, worked with tools and tinted green-emerald in the mass, with clear decoration with acid, in applique, of a naturalistic composition mixing, in shades of gold and platinum, tassels, branches and stylized oak leaves. Production françois-théodore legras, master glassmaker (1839/1916); art nouveau period, circa 1890-1900. Signature montjoye. Traces of signature partially erased, in gold, stamp, under the base of the vase (coat of arms "montjoye saint-denis"). Dimensions: height, 24.50 cm; diameter at the neck of the vase, 8.75 cm; circumference of about 15.00 cm. Condition report: very nice overall condition, excellent conservation. However, we will report a slight alteration of the silver patina on some tassels, in the upper part of the vase, around the collar. The gilding, as a whole, remains well preserved, however. We also note some stripes, customary, on the reverse of the base of the vase (without gravity, not visible when the vase is laid); and a tiny wear of use, related to time, at the neck of the vase (minimal wear manifested by, again, an alteration of the golden contour of the neck).
