Desk and its removable shelf in Scandinavian style made of teak, RDA around 1960.

Very beautiful and very rare Scandinavian-style desk, but made in the former GDR (GDR stamp under the top) in the 1960s. Entirely made of teak and teak veneer, its originality lies in the presence of a removable storage shelf resting on the back of the top. The desk has 2 pedestals with 2 drawers, one of which has a key, and rests on a very nice spindle leg with stretchers. Finally, the contrast of the drawer knobs inlaid with golden beech is noteworthy. Width 121 cm, depth 58 cm (22 cm for the shelf), height 71 cm (128 cm with shelf). In superb condition, there is just a small ring on the top at the junction with the shelf, as well as a small chip of veneer on the latter, all without aesthetic impact. Combining practicality and aesthetics, this very beautiful desk will be ideal in a teenager's room or in a living room for remote work.
