This charming box needs no introduction, as its style is instantly recognisable! Wedgwood, of course! It will add a romantic vintage touch as a sugar bowl, sweet jar, cotton or jewellery box, or will delight a collector. Made of matte blue earthenware known as jasperware, adorned with relief friezes featuring a finely crafted vine motif in white earthenware, this box is typical of the creations from the famous English manufacturer Wedgwood, which was established in 1895. It is marked underneath "Wedgwood, made in England" along with the number 79, which apparently indicates the year of manufacture of this box, and two letters, G and R, the meaning of which I have not found. It is in generally good condition, with no cracks or chips, and the reliefs are intact, but it shows some signs of age: a few light, barely visible marks on the lid and more noticeable stains under the base (the ring part that touches the surface on which the box is placed). This box measures 12.5 cm in diameter and approximately 9 cm in total height with the lid and its handle, and 6 cm in height without the handle.
