Glazed stoneware jug – hand-painted decoration

Authentic and full of character, this pretty, unstamped, glazed stoneware jug likely came from a small French artisan workshop in the 1960s–1980s. Its speckled tobacco brown glaze highlights a rare hand-painted decoration, composed of large cobalt blue and moss green floral scrolls applied with a brush directly onto the raw stoneware. The piece seduces with its balanced proportions, soft belly, generous handle, and pinched spout, which give it a rustic yet neat look.
