This is an extra long, vintage, french, porcelain, trout platter measuring 54cms/ 21¼" X 21cms/ 8¼" wide. It is heavy weighing 1.6 kgs/ 3.5 lbs! It is in perfect condition, with no chips, cracks or scratches. It has the "l" (for limoges) porcelaine française" mark on the underside. It has the most detailed illustration of two trout swimming. The colours are muted, subtle greens and grey/blues. The fish are accurately represented, with spots and "hints" of pink and yellow on the undersides. The fins and tails of the fish have been "picked out" in fine detail. An iris sits to the side of the platter, the mauve of the background hills in the landscape complementing the purple of its petals. Most impressive is the way the water has been "brushed" across the fish to give the impression of its movement through the river. This platter would make an ideal table centerpiece for serving a beautifully prepared trout, salmon or other fish. It would also be a wonderful party, or buffet, piece for serving stylish canapes and nibbles, to add elegance to your setting. It is ideal for large catering events such as weddings, banquets and big family gatherings. It looks so impressively stunning it will be a real 'talking point'.
