The pack sofa is a large sofa with two basic elements that visually suggest that it covers an ice floe with a fabric specially made with a texture that indicates the complexity of the ice layers. On top of the base is a backrest in the shape of a bear resting on its side. Covered with ecological fur, this “bear bolster” is weighted on the inside and has a non-slip leather bottom. As much a sculpture as a piece of seating, the pack sofa evokes the coziness and playfulness of childhood memories of a favorite stuffed animal, while perhaps serving as a poignant reminder of climate change.
