Description
Mirror designed by george j. Sowden in the 1980s. As co-founder of the memphis group alongside figures such as ettore sottsass, he helped create an iconoclastic movement, challenging the conventions of traditional design. Sowden brought an avant-garde approach, mixing geometric shapes, vibrant patterns and innovative materials. This white lacquered wood wall mirror uses geometric shapes to create an anthropomorphic silhouette. We like the contrast with the black lacquered wood decor with more organic shapes. Produced in a limited edition for the magazine la donna, it represents a tribute to the journalists of this publication. However, due to its commemorative nature, it was never released for sale to the general public. Handwritten signature on the back: george t sowden 1986 edition: la donna magazine, circa 1986, limited edition produced by memphis milano.
