Charming pair of antique mirrors in Louis XVI style dating from the 19th century, originating from a château in Touraine. The two mirrors are perfectly identical, which has become quite rare today. They feature an elegant decoration in gilded wood and stucco, finely carved with ribbons, pearls, and foliage, characteristic of the Louis XVI taste. The oval antique glass offers a beautiful presence and retains all the charm of period mirrors. As is often the case with this type of piece, the wood and glass have naturally aged over time, resulting in some fine cracks on the oval frame. These signs of age are stable and do not affect the solidity or aesthetic quality of the whole (see the last 6 photos). The overall condition is very good with well-preserved original gilding and a beautiful patina. This pair would ideally find its place on either side of a fireplace, above two consoles, in an entrance or a bedroom, suitable for both a classic and contemporary interior. Dimensions of each mirror: • Height: 53 cm. • Width: 47 cm. • Depth: 5 cm.
