Antique oak wardrobe dating probably from the 1930s-1940s, fully restored in my workshop. Its façade is particularly elegant with its two large oak panelled doors, geometric carved decorations, and narrow central mirror. The tapered legs and the understated lines of the whole piece are characteristic of furniture from this period. This wardrobe has undergone a complete restoration, including structural work: broken or split elements have been repaired, several joints made, and a severely damaged back panel has been replaced. The central partition has been reinforced, as have the base and the feet, which have been re-glued and strengthened with wooden brackets. The entire piece of furniture has then been stripped and carefully sanded. The doors have been re-hung and the lock entries replaced. Two old keys have been adapted to the piece. The interior has also been completely refurbished. Eight new shelves made of pine, stained and varnished, have been created and installed on battens. A hanging rail allows part of the wardrobe to be easily converted into a hanging space by removing the corresponding shelves. The interior is varnished for easy maintenance. On the outside, the oak has received two coats of primer followed by two coats of wax, carefully polished. This natural finish highlights the shades and the beautiful grain of the wood. The wardrobe is fully dismantlable, which greatly facilitates its transport and installation. Restored antique furniture: despite the care taken in its restoration, it naturally retains some traces and irregularities related to its age and history, which contribute to its character.
