Rare pair of living room armchairs circa 1900. If the angled quadripod and the "saddle" seat shape offered seating ergonomics adapted to people of "dress" (ecclesiasts, magistrates, etc.), it was also dedicated to ladies in public places, department stores, hotels of the belle epoque... This poster by frank hazen around 1895 - see photo - still bears witness to this. These examples are in oak, “queen anne” base. Thermoformed seat base with perforated pattern (also used from the end of the 1880s in thonet and type bentwood seats). Large seat, you can install, why not, one or two cushions...
