Glass and Silver Jug

Wine carafe Made in England 1930. This Claret Jug in cut glass and silver plate is a traditional carafe for serving Bordeaux / Claret typical of the first half of the 20th century (1900). The articulated metal mount (neck, spout, hinged lid) as well as its handle are made of silver-plated metal (stamp on the back of the spout, dark photo to make the inscription readable). Its glass body with cut/moulded pattern features vertical flutes at the top and "diamond point" motifs at the bottom. The base is in impeccable condition (not cracked or chipped). Its natural patina gives it a unique hue and leaves a vintage impression for this splendid decorative item.
