For lovers of antique porcelain I offer you these two jewels of the house touze, lemaitre frès & l.blancher. A coffee maker and sugar maker shaped with sides dating from 1918 – 1920 bird decoration 'heron' in a japanese style. Hand-painted décor. Coffee maker ø10cm neck h20cm. Sugar bowl ø10cm neck h14cm. For the record: The history of this family business began in 1863 when michel touze and a. Soudanas joined forces to create a factory in limoges, boulevard des petits carmes. In 1869, touze remained alone and settled the following year, in association with marty and theillaud, in new buildings, at 79, ancienne route d'aixe. The new factory had 2 furnaces and employed 159 people. At his death his wife took over, followed a few years later by their son. Between 1901 and 1913 the company was called j.b.t & cie. But it had to cease the activity because of the first world war. In 1918, the war over, the family created the firm touze, lemaître frères and l. Blancher, a factory specializing in table service, tea service and coffee service. The house undertakes a renewal of forms and decorations in "modern taste". In 1925 she presented at the exposition des arts décoratifs modernes three services composed by the decorative artist lilian de glehn-thibaut, very much approved by the art critic yvanhoé rambosson. Other new shapes are then created and bright flat colors are used. Some sets were entirely hand painted. The house participated in the exhibition of aeronautics and art, in 1930, as well as in the international colonial exhibition of 1931 and the exhibition of arts and techniques of 1937 and manufactured services for primavera, the art workshop of the printemps department store. Like other factories in limoges, t.l.b. Did not survive the second world war and seems to have ceased operations in 1942.
