Description
Original antique lithographic engraving of vanity fair by hugh laurence doherty. The caption reads: " triple champion " dated: september 1, 1904. Vanity fair was a british weekly magazine published from 1868 to 1914. Founded by thomas gibson bowles, it offered its readership articles on fashion, current affairs, theatre, books, social events and the latest scandals. A full-page color lithograph of a contemporary celebrity or dignitary appeared in most issues, and it is for these cartoons that vanity fair is best known today. The print measures approximately 10 1/2" X 15 1/2". It is in good condition with own margins. Frame in magnifying glass and glass.
