Description
Wonderful large ceramic vase, created by the well known dutch ceramist, Hannie Mein in ca. The 1970s. We haven't seen a second piece, with this height combined with this pattern and colors. It remains in excellent condition and is signed 'hm' underneath. Hannie Mein (Utrecht 1933 – 2003). Hannie Mein studied at the Rietveld academy. After private lessons from Theo Dobbelman and Piet de Koning she started her own studio in 1956 in Amsterdam. In 1968 she moved to the Vinkega (Friesland). Much of her work was made of black-baking clay, hand-turned, sometimes cut or incised. In recent years she has mainly made Unica.
