Bert Kiewiet – 'Het Tietenbeest', bronze fantasy creature, circa 1980

A quirky and humorous bronze sculpture by the Dutch sculptor Bert Kiewiet: 'Het Tietenbeest' ('Tits Beast'), circa 1980. This fantasy creature features a round, bulbous body, a studded collar, and thin, striding legs. As the title suggests, the beast also has breasts. The bronze has a dark, warm patina. Kiewiet was known for his figurative sculptures, often depicting everyday life and lost crafts in Drenthe, the Netherlands. This piece shows his playful side and serves as a real conversation piece, suitable for both classic and modern interiors.
