Carved wooden box set Africa

Very pretty wooden box whose upper face has been finely and deeply (a good half a centimeter) carved by hand and whose general shape is reminiscent of a book. The setting appears to be an african village with a house, trees and palm trees and a woman carrying a child in a sling. African origin which was also confirmed to me by its previous owner. It is a very beautiful piece of handicraft work which dates from the 70s. It is in good general condition, solid, without cracks or chips, with intact decor, but it does not hide its age and years of use: various small marks and stains on the wood, slight discoloration on one side of the upper side (probably more exposed to light there) and inside, many things have been noted with a pen or felt-tip pen on the wood (this seems indelible to me, so I just hid a few figures for the sake of confidentiality (numbers that may still be current). Tool marks (original) are visible on the edge of the back protruding on each side. I carefully cleaned this box and removed the dust accumulated in the decorations using a damp brush, then I applied a very light coat of antique dealer's wax. This box measures 33.5 cm by 20 cm with a thickness of 9.5 cm.
