wooden vide-poche Indonesia carved in Boho Japandi style

Superb vintage service bowl / catchall made from solid hand-carved wood, originating from Indonesia. This piece stands out for its high-quality craftsmanship and very current raw aesthetic, perfectly suited to Boho Chic, Brutalist, or Japandi decorative styles. It showcases the expertise of Southeast Asian artisans, where wood carving plays a central role in everyday and decorative objects. Made from exotic wood such as suar or plantation teak, it features a beautiful natural patina with warm, deep brown tones. The relief decoration, composed of traditional patterns known as "rice grains" or honeycombs, is framed by a finely executed sawtooth frieze. The intentionally textured surface reveals direct carving work with a wood chisel, showcasing visible concave facets that highlight the artisan's gesture. Its elegant shuttle/almond shape gives it a balanced and decorative silhouette. Length: 27 cm Width: 19 cm Height: 5 cm Excellent overall condition. Healthy wood, beautiful original patina, with no major cracks or splits.
