Stag Head Ice Dish Silver Plated Deer Barware

A striking vintage silver-plated ice dish with beautifully sculpted stag heads and spreading antlers forming the handles at either end. The finely chased faces, ears and antlers give it wonderful character, while the simple round bowl keeps the design elegant. Stag and deer motifs became especially popular in decorative barware and hunting-lodge interiors during the mid-20th century, and similar silver-plated stag ice buckets are now sought after as unusual collector pieces. Made to hold ice, this is a charming statement piece for a vintage bar, drinks table or country house setting. The silver plate has a lovely aged patina with darker areas and light surface marks from use, particularly to the underside and bowl, giving it an authentic old-world character.
