4 wooden animal figurines – Asian folk art, 20th century

Set of four animal figurines made of carved and hand-painted wood, likely from Southeast Asian craftsmanship of the 20th century. Their deliberately minimalist design, highlighted by a black and green polychromy on a patinated white background, gives them a presence that is both graphic and warm. Designed to be displayed individually or stacked, they offer multiple composition possibilities and become a true sculptural decorative object. Each piece exhibits the slight variations and irregularities characteristic of work entirely done by hand. Overall good condition, with a patina of use consistent with their age.
