Side table

This side table with its walnut veneered tops and beech base was covered with a thick varnish not pretty and contained too many traces of machine (sander) that had to be removed. I started by disassembling the furniture and using stripper and scrapers I removed all the varnish. I glued the blisters back onto the veneer and reinforced the low tray by gluing pieces of wood into the corners and made four small wooden discs fixed under the low tray. I sanded the whole with abrasives of different grains and manually so as not to damage the veneer further. I then painted the underboards black to unify the look. I applied three coats of varnish by ginning each and I polished with the wax to skate. Side table or end of sofa, this small piece of furniture with warm shades will adapt to all situations and according to your needs. Dimensions: height 56.5 cm – width 69.5 cm – depth 45 cm. Large tray: 65 cm – 45 cm small tray: 43 cm -31 cm.
