This white opaline glass, brass and metal chandelier was designed by Angelo Lelii for Arredoluce in 1958. Featuring an abstract structure painstakingly fashioned from curved brass rods surrounding the opaline glass shade, this fixture is a variation of the emblematic Medusa chandelier by Lelii. The matte finish of the opaline offers a warm and diffused light captured by the brass, thus elegantly highlighting the whole. This room has been restored, electrified, and is in a superb state of conservation. Angelo Lelii (1911-1979) was an Italian designer famous for his innovative work in lighting design. In 1947, Lelli founded Arredoluce and became a key player in promoting Italian design on a global scale. In collaboration with renowned designers such as Franco Albini and Achille and Pier Castiglioni, Lelli produces, through Arredoluce, avant-garde lighting collections, featuring minimalist shapes inspired by new technologies. Today, his legacy continues to inspire designers around the world, confirming his status as a visionary in the field. Literature: A. Pansera, A. Padoan, A. Palmaghini, Arredoluce, Catalogo Ragionato 1943-1987, page 202/203, Silvana Editoriale, Milano, 2018.
