Scribanne chest of drawers in solid mahogany, Georgian period, England – 18th century

Superb scribanne commode of english work, made during the georgian period in the 18th century. This high quality solid mahogany secretary desk has two lockable drawers with hinged handles. In the lower part we observe three large drawers of different heights. Their facades have a rush around their perimeter. In the center of each drawer, we find a diamond entrance. Locks in working order are accompanied by their key. Pull handles adorn these drawers. This scriban chest of drawers has a miter-cut flap in the upper part, the center of which is made up of a single panel. The flap lock is in working order. This is held in its horizontal position by two pull tabs. The solid mahogany interior has several niches and drawers, with wooden knobs, arranged in tiers. The sides and bottoms of the drawers, assembled with dovetails, are in oak, as is the bottom of the cabinet. Note that this piece of furniture has dust covers between the drawers.
