Gio Ponti Coffee Table for Domus Nova Italy 1950s

Stunning sculptural coffee table designed by gio ponti in the 1950s for domus nova italy. This beautifully shaped coffee table was originally designed for the milan concept store ‘la rinascente’. The table is made of walnut and it still has its original glass top. The beautiful pattern on the lower level of the table is made from a square graphical inlay. The table is documented in the book: gio ponti. Le navi: il progetto degli interni navali 1948-1953, p. 214. The table is in very good original condition. Only some light scratches on the glass top.
