Description
Pair of dcw chairs (dcw = short for dining chair wood / wooden dining chair). Multiplex, ash veneer, tinted black (original color of this pair). Design icon created by ray & charles eames. These are second generation chairs produced by herman miller usa between 1950 and 1953, just after the company took over the manufacture of evans plywwod (production of the dcw was stopped between 1954 and 1994). They can be dated thanks to the 5-2-4 assembly screws and the letters dcw under the chairs. New finish, the backrests were repaired and some shockmounts (rubber junction parts) replaced. Seat height 43-44cm.
