DESVRES earthenware dog with sulphide eyes, 1950

Adorable dog in Desvres earthenware. A typically Norman handcrafted piece, made in the mid-20th century. Superb glossy glaze, bright colors, and identifiable yellow collar. Hand-painted decoration. Rare model with sulfide eyes, a traditional technique where a small motif (a star here) is inlaid in the glass sphere. Good general condition of conservation, small chip on the left ear, a chip made up in black on the tail and tiny micro chips. Ideal collector's item for lovers of Norman earthenware.
