Center table with Louis XVI style marble

Small circular table (pedestal table), high and round, in finely carved gilded wood with a black marble top. This pedestal table easily becomes a small side table. We are in the presence of what is sometimes called a “middle table”. Very stable, it is placed on 4 finely fluted legs, connected by a very beautiful X-shaped spacer, elegantly worked and molded, topped with a flame ornamentation typical of Louis XVI decorations. The straight grooves of the 4 uprights in a certain way "geometrize" a whole which thus takes on the air of antique furniture. here too, we are on pure Louis XVI imitating Greco-Roman art. Finally, the materials, combining the golden colors of the wood with the veined black of the marble, are completed in wood and stucco also gilded. The black marble is nicely veined, and embedded in the wood which forms a real belt that is also extremely well sculpted.
