Vintage serving table, 50s

Side table on wheels with a system allowing for different positions and multiple heights. Created by François Caruelle, known for a design approach that blends functionality and aesthetics. The model consists of two trays, the smaller one is square and fixed. The larger tray is rectangular, and it can rotate and tilt thanks to a simple mechanism. Both have a solid wood edge and a centre made of formica. The base is a cross in chrome metal, with the upper part housing the mechanism made of cast iron. The leg can be adjusted in height, and a part of the base can be extended or retracted. Very stable and sturdy, it can be used, for example, as a drawing or reading table. Dimensions of the small tray: 28×28 cm. Dimensions of the adjustable tray: 54×40 cm. Height adjustable, with a minimum of 69 cm and a maximum of 105 cm. Width of the retracted leg: 50 cm, extended: 84 cm.
