Small solid wood stool, handcrafted and dated from the late 19th to early 20th century, around 1880-1920. Its robust construction and seat made of traditional hand-woven rush demonstrate an ancient craftsmanship. The weaving of the seat forms a geometric pattern radiating around the centre. The wood has a beautiful warm and authentic patina, with natural marks left by time and use. This small seat can be used as a side stool, footrest, occasional seat, or decorative element in an entrance, bedroom, living room, or country house. It also fits very well into rustic, country chic, or wabi-sabi decor. Some holes related to the previous presence of wood-boring insects are visible in the wood. The stool has been treated to prevent any potential infestation. The rush shows signs of use and some irregularities consistent with its age. Dimensions: H. 35 cm – seat 39 × 36 cm. Manufacturer: unidentified. Dating: around 1880-1920. Style: antique rural furniture, traditional craftsmanship. Material: solid wood and plant rush. Price: €95.
