Small Cylindrical Pot In Sky Blue Opaline

Date: ca. Late 19th century a small cylindrical pot in pretty sky blue opaline glass. A gold metal band with triangular patterns adorns the edge. It is hand blown opaline glass and is relatively thick. Opaline glass is a semi-crystalline glass whose translucency is created by the addition of tin phosphates and bone or ash. Opaline glass was made almost exclusively in france in the 19th century. Italy resumed production of opaline products from the middle of the 20th century. Condition: good. Some oxidation spots on the golden edge. Dimensions: 6.2 cm in height, 5.4 cm in diameter.
