Sputnik chandelier in Chrome by Motoko Ishii for Staff, Germany 1970

Extraordinary 1970 chrome chandelier designed by Motoko Ishii and produced by Staff Leuchten of Germany and distributed by Lightolier in the American market. This chandelier is equipped with 13 globes, the structure is made of chromed metal. Motoko Ishii is a Japanese female lighting designer. From 1965 to 1967, she worked in lighting design offices in Finland and Germany. Returning to Japan in 1968, she established the Motoko Ishii Design Office. One of her major projects was the lighting design for the 1975 World Expo in Okinawa. We have a pair of chandeliers.
